North Country Cooked Meats / North Country Quality Meats / The Good Food Chain - Listeria Outbreak

Cottage Foods can confirm that North Country Quality Foods was a nominated supplier to Cottage Foods (Yorkshire) Ltd on a number of, but not all, cooked meat product lines. However, Cottage Foods did not supply and has no connection with the Listeria affected sites or supply to them. 

During our trading with North Country Quality Foods our strict food safety policy was followed including temperature and audit controls. 

Prior to the press reporting the Listeria outbreak connected with North Country Quality Foods, Cottage Foods had significantly reduced supply of any of their products with no new product being taken into our business from Thursday 30th May. 

North Country informed Cottage Foods of a voluntary recall late Friday 07th June. 

Cottage Foods took all appropriate steps in line with FSA guidelines to inform any customers who may have still had North Country stock and made an immediate recall of any outstanding stock carrying the Health Mark FC010. 

Cottage Foods has had no further communications since 7th June from North Country Quality Foods. 

Cottage Foods takes any product recall very seriously. We follow very strict guidelines when choosing and working with suppliers of any of our products, with specs regularly being checked along with technical compliance. We take food safety and quality with the paramount of importance and you can be confident that we always take all of the necessary steps to ensure legitimacy and safety within our food supply chain.
